gals 21st & diamond rings

What exactly is it with gals 21st birthdays and their boyfriends giving them diamond rings? i received one fr my guy, Daniel this yr and so did another pal of mine. A fellow blogger also received a diamond ring from her bf.

Why nt diamond earring, diamond necklace? Why a diamond ring? Call me an old-fashioned rigid or whatever. I always thought that diamonds are precious stones that are used when a guy proposes to a gal.

With all the SK Jewellery, CitiGems and Taka Jewellery, diamonds are getting so cheap and guys do not have to save up for a diamond just for proposal anymore. But still, I am gonna give credit to the guys who actually gave diamonds to their gfs, as purchasing diamonds for their gfs definitely mean something!
